Right, lets get to it...

For anyone who doesnt know me, my name is Lauren (Holmesy for short) and my gorgeous other half is Thomas (or Toz) 

We have a big ol' blended family with 8 children in total (shut uppp its not even that many!! 👀) But Thomas's 4 boys and my son & 2 daughters just didnt seem enough 🤷🏻‍♀️ and with 2 cars and 1 seat to fill, we finished our collection with a daughter together. Absolutely chaotic at times and not without its challenges... but we make it work and the kids make it so easy ❤️ 

We have been together 6 years this year and FUCKING HELL, what a roller-coaster. (I should also mention at this point the roller-coaster is mostly on fire, the carriages are filled with wasps and there's parts of the track missing...but occasionally we go past some nice scenery, so every cloud and all that jazz!) 

Im not going to give you the full years shenanigans, fuck that - its a blog not a novel. This little bloggeroo is going to begin in July 2025 when the roller-coaster nose-dived and came to a dead stop ✋🏻 

This blog isn’t a medical diary. It’s just me waffling the fuck on each day whilst i watch the love of my life fight for his actual life, in an ongoing attempt to keep myself from breaking down, and to try and keep my sense of humour intact while life is anything but funny. 

I’m writing this for our friends, for anyone walking a similar path, and maybe a little bit for future us — so we can look back one day and remember how he got through this with me right beside him every step of the way ❤️

    Focus on the nice scenery and your friends will help put out the fires and kill the wasps. We’ll even try and fix the track, but pleasseee put on your breaks and give yourself some time out whilst were doing it ❤️

Snowdon to Squamous Cell Carcinoma

"I've got a lump on my neck" - I took a look, running my fingers down each side of his neck. It felt like one of his glands were swollen. I can't syncope with this!!!

You take your tonsils out, your feeding tube in, tooth out, bloods done, cancer can get in the bin. (Please tell me you read that in the tune of the hokey cokey, because if not - please read it again 🤭) Im guna take you back to the 2nd October which was the day after the feeding tube went in and 5 days before the tooth was removed. The universe, not quite content with the current stress levels, decided to test us further with a cheeky little syncope seizure! (Thanks for that, another challenge is JUST what we'd hoped for right now 😭)  A syncope seizure is just fainting and the involuntary movements your body sometimes makes when you do. But when you've never seen someone have one, especially when they have just had multiple procedures following a cancer diagnosis, its pretty fucking scary.
